Lagoons

Lagoons or Pond Systems are 2 component systems that break down septic wastes. The first component is the septic tank and the second is a pond that further breaks down effluent. The pond uses bacteria and algae to accomplish this.

Lagoons are 3-5 feet in depth for optimum bacteria functionality. Lagoons must be fenced off and can only be installed in residences with 2½ or more acres. Lagoons are advantageous in that they have low average maintenance costs.
