Sprinkler Head Protection for Aerobic Septic Systems

The most common problem we see with aerobic septic systems is broken sprinkler heads.

The leading cause is lawnmowers. Sprinkler heads are often mowed over or ran over. Sleeving your sprinkler head is a very cheap and easy method to protect them and save you money. Below are the instruction about how to sleeve your sprinkler heads. You will need a shovel and 6” of pipe per sprinkler head.

  1. Dig up around sprinkler head (You will not need to dig more than 6” down)
  2. Take a 6” piece of pipe that is wider in diameter than your sprinkler head and insert over the top of the sprinkler head.
  3. Position the pipe so that it is flush with the sprinkler head. It is very important that the sprinkler head is not above the top of the pipe.
  4. Fill in around the pipe.

With this easy procedure you can prevent problems and repairs. If you have any questions or need assistance with your Aerobic Septic System and you live in the Tulsa and Owasso, Oklahoma area, call Provision Aerobic & Septic at 918-381-2050.
